This tour is designed for travellers looking for an ideal balance of culture, history and relaxation during their visit to Myanmar. Your journey starts with two days of total immersion in the country’s two biggest cities: dynamic Yangon and cultural Mandalay. Mandalay also serves as the perfect jumping-off point for tours of the ancient capital cities of Inwa (AVA), Amarapura and Sagaing. From there, a leisurely cruise down the Ayeyarwady River will take you to Bagan, the biggest and brightest of all the former capitals. You will have plenty of time to absorb the special ambience of this collection of thousands of temples and pagodas before travelling to the coast to indulge in some well-earned relaxation in the shade of countless beachfront palm trees.


Study the extensive collection of colonial architecture in downtown Yangon

Take in the magical and tranquil atmosphere at Yangon’s famous pagodas, including Sule Pagoda and
   the awe  inspiring Shwedagon Pagoda

Visit significant religious sites in Mandalay, including Mahamuni Pagoda and its stunning Buddha image
   covered with thick layers of gold leaf

Watch the sunset over the plains of central Myanmar from the top of Mandalay Hill

Observe skilled artisans in Mandalay’s Craftsmen’s Quarter create everything from marble statue of
   the Buddha to wooden marionettes

Explore Inwa, Amarapura and Sagaing, where magnificent monasteries and crumbling ruins serve as
   reminders of their glorious past as royal capitals of centuries past

Take a romantic sunset stroll on U Bein Bridge, a 200-year-old teakwood footbridge extending for
   more than a kilometre across a shallow lake

Enjoy the panoramic view from the top of Mingun Pahtodawgyi, a huge unfinished temple that is visible
